Tip: How to peel and cut a mango

Mango is one of my favourite tropical fruits and its unique spicy-sweet and tangy flavour can be easily appreciated by many.

Recipe-Mango-sorbet-Step01

The skin of mangoes is smooth and thin but though, varying from yellow to red, with patches of green, red or purple. The green disappears as mangoes ripen.

Mangoes also look perfect as decoration since they can be perfectly diced with an easy technique (that I used in a recipe I published some time ago, the Tres leches cake).

This is a recap on how to peel and cut a mango into cubes without barbarically destroying it! 🙂

Directions

1
Cut the mango along each side of the pit to remove two sections
2
Make crosswise cuts through the flesh, just to the skin
3
Press up on the skin side of the section, exposing the cubes
4
Cut the remaining part of the mango around the pit and peel it by passing the knife between the pulp and the skin
