It looks really nice, definitely different from the ones you can find in regular bakeries.<\/p>\n<p>I chose to buy it at <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/LAtelier-Jean-Luc-Pel%C3%A9\/193353724014567?ref=stream&amp;viewer_id=620917104\" target=\"_blank\">Jean-Luc Pel\u00e9<\/a><\/strong>&#8216;s shop, one of the main p\u00e2tisseries here in Cannes, because it was the only one to have a <strong>wider choice of flavours<\/strong>. Traditionally, the galette is filled with a <strong>frangipane<\/strong> cream, therefore with a strong taste of almonds.<\/p>\n<p>Apart from the traditional version, instead, this year Jean-Luc Pel\u00e9 proposed some variants, like <strong>pralin\u00e9, raspberry and pistachio, chocolate<\/strong>&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.roadtopastry.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/jean-luc-pele-galettes.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-659\" alt=\"jean-luc-pele-galettes\" src=\"http:\/\/www.roadtopastry.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/jean-luc-pele-galettes.jpg\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.roadtopastry.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/jean-luc-pele-galettes.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.roadtopastry.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/jean-luc-pele-galettes-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The galette I bought was indeed a <strong>chocolate<\/strong> one: I was a bit disappointed to discover it was not filled with &#8220;almonds and chocolate&#8221; like I had imagined, but with a simpler chocolate ganache.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.roadtopastry.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/galette-chocolat-jean-luc-pele-cannes-top.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-658\" alt=\"galette-chocolat-jean-luc-pele-cannes-top\" src=\"http:\/\/www.roadtopastry.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/galette-chocolat-jean-luc-pele-cannes-top.jpg\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.roadtopastry.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/galette-chocolat-jean-luc-pele-cannes-top.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.roadtopastry.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/galette-chocolat-jean-luc-pele-cannes-top-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, the simplicity of the filling didn&#8217;t really justify the <strong>relatively high price<\/strong> (20\u20ac for a 4-person galette), but I must admit that the galette was <strong>really good:<\/strong> <strong>I would recommend it<\/strong> to anyone. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>PS: <a title=\"Galette des rois\" href=\"http:\/\/www.roadtopastry.com\/blog\/recipes\/cakes\/galette-des-rois.htm\" target=\"_blank\">here is the recipe of the traditional frangipane galette<\/a> that I published a few days ago&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Believe it or not, this is the first Galette des rois I buy in a pastry shop!
