(This just means that the rest\u00a0is super easy!!!)<\/p>\n<p>The so-called &#8220;<strong>verrines<\/strong>&#8221; are just <strong>small\u00a0glasses<\/strong> used as containers for desserts (but also savoury appetizers, why not!):\u00a0apparently they were &#8220;invented&#8221; in the mid-90&#8217;s and started to gain popularity ever since.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.roadtopastry.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Recipe-Chocolate-custard-verrine10.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4428\" src=\"http:\/\/www.roadtopastry.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Recipe-Chocolate-custard-verrine10.jpg\" alt=\"Recipe-Chocolate-custard-verrine10\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.roadtopastry.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Recipe-Chocolate-custard-verrine10.jpg 640w, https:\/\/www.roadtopastry.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Recipe-Chocolate-custard-verrine10-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I decided to use\u00a0<strong>shot glasses<\/strong> for a very <strong>simple<\/strong> dark <strong>chocolate dessert<\/strong>. These verrines are basically a <strong><a title=\"Recipe: Vanilla custard sauce (Cr\u00e8me anglaise)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.roadtopastry.com\/blog\/recipes\/creams-custards-sauces\/recipe-vanilla-custard-sauce-creme-anglaise\">custard sauce<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0with the addition of <strong>dark chocolate<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.roadtopastry.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Recipe-Vanilla-ice-cream-Step11.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone in\u00a0the warm custard sauce but once in the fridge it will make the dessert <strong>dense and creamy<\/strong> at the same time.\u00a0Its consistency is quite similar to that of a <a
